Headwaters Fund Seeking New Board Members, Applications Due Friday, July 15
The County of Humboldt’s Economic Development Division is currently seeking volunteers to serve on the Headwaters Fund Board.
The Headwaters Fund invests in projects through grants and loans to help Humboldt County residents achieve increased economic opportunity and success.
Board members review and recommend grant awards to eligible nonprofits and government organizations, provide oversight to lending activities facilitated by partner agencies including the Arcata Economic Development Corporation and the Redwood Region Economic Development Commission, solicit community input on program initiatives to meet the needs of the community, and protect the fund corpus to ensure long-term viability.
Community members selected to serve as volunteer members of the Headwaters Fund Board share a common vision to improve the economic prosperity and quality of life in Humboldt County through diverse backgrounds and professional experiences. Humboldt County residents with business or nonprofit experience, strong community engagement skills and experience or interest in industries including, but not limited to, diversified health care, arts and culture, cannabis, travel and tourism, specialty food, flowers and beverages, niche manufacturing, management and innovation services, childcare, housing, broadband, education, sustainable and renewable energy, construction, and building are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 15 and are available online at the Headwaters Fund Board Meetings and Governance web page.
