The Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Measure Z Expenditures at its meeting yesterday finalized its regular meeting schedule and appointed a chairperson. The committee will meet frequently until the beginning of May. Eureka resident Mike Newman is the chair for the committee and Loleta resident Jonathan Flyer will serve as the vice chair. Ultimately, the committee will make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on how to allocate revenues from Measure Z, the half-cent sales tax that was passed by voters in November.

In addition, at its March 5 meeting the committee will consider approving a form to be completed by those seeking Measure Z funds. It is anticipated that applications for funding will be due to the committee in mid-March; a final date has not been set.
