The CPUC’s proposed guidelines refines PSPS rules to reduce their size, scale and scope. Last year alone, severe weather conditions in other areas resulted in power shutoffs that affected all of Humboldt County, resulting in complications for those who rely on electricity for medical equipment, significant losses in business revenue, and thousands of homes being without electricity for extended periods, among other effects.
