PG&E has said Humboldt County has been given the weather
“All clear” so inspection of the lines can begin. However, PG&E was unable to provide information
regarding the status of those inspections or time estimations for power
restoration to any portion of Humboldt County.
They reiterated restoration could take up to 48 daylight hours from the
weather “All clear” time.
Humboldt County residents are encouraged to prepare for
another night without power. Temperatures
are forecast to dip into the 30’s inland and some areas along the coast could
see freezing temperatures. Please use
care when using generator powered heating devices or fire sources for indoor
heat.
If possible, avoid driving while the power is out. If you must drive, treat all intersections
with nonoperational traffic signals as four way stops. Drive slowly and cautiously during the
outage.
The next weather event is still scheduled for Tuesday
morning. PG&E estimated a
de-energization time of 4:30 am on Tuesday 10-29-2019, and estimated the time
for the weather “All clear” at 12 pm noon on Wednesday 10-30-2019. As always, these times are estimates provided
by PG&E and are subject to change.
