[ARCHIVED] What County Work is Most Important to You? Humboldt Roadshow Coming to Your Town in March

Roadshow Logo 2019

The Humboldt County Roadshow will make its first stop on March 13, and citizens are invited to attend when it hits your area. At this interactive, award-winning event you can visit in person with elected officials and county staff to talk about your community. This year’s meeting is specifically designed to get your opinions on which county projects should be prioritized and receive the most attention.

Read a draft of the Board of Supervisors’ Strategic Framework, which details some of the work being done to achieve Humboldt County’s long-term goals. A final version of this document will be on the Board’s March 5 agenda.

The Roadshow will come to three areas of the county on three consecutive Wednesdays in March. Members of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will host each meeting, which will include a series of small table discussions with subject matter experts like the Sheriff, leadership from Probation, Department of Health & Human Services, Planning & Building, Public Works, and Aviation.

“Our community really appreciates having this opportunity to talk with county staff and their elected representatives. And the feedback we receive is invaluable in shaping a lot of our decisions every year.” said Rex Bohn, 1st District Supervisor and Chair of the Board. “We really want to hear from the community about what’s working for them, and what we need to fix. We have a vision for Humboldt County and we need to know if the steps we’re taking to get there really work for the people who live here. I know we’re all looking forward to checking back in with the community and really sharpening our focus for the coming years.”

Each meeting will begin with a meet-and-greet where residents can visit one-on-one with their elected officials and representatives from several county departments. This is a great opportunity to discuss county efforts with local officials in an intimate setting. The Roadshow meeting will begin promptly after the meet-and-greet.
