Evacuation warnings remain in effect for southern Humboldt County as fire crews work to contain the August Complex Fire just east of the county line.
CURRENT SITUATION
The August Complex Fire continues to spread west toward Humboldt County. As of Sept. 28, 2020 at 7 p.m. the fire has not entered Humboldt County. Due to continued fire conditions expected this evening, residents in evacuation warning areas are urged to be prepared and stay alert for further escalation of evacuation directions.
Residents in the evacuation warning area should ensure personal cell phones are charged and remain on ring so that emergency alerts can be heard during the night. Residents should also ensure an evacuation plan for both people and animals is in place for your family and you have an evacuation kit packed and ready to go. Be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
