Temporary Accommodations for Wheelchair Ramp at Public Entrance to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility
Effective Saturday, March 17, 2018, the public entrance of the Humboldt County Correctional Facility will be limited to stairs only. The accessible ramp will be closed for reconstruction until further notice. Any member of the public who needs to enter the Correctional Facility and is unable to use stairs may call (707) 441-5121 and make an appointment to be escorted into the facility from the 4th Street temporary entrance. Once an appointment is made, the member of the public will receive instructions as to where to meet correctional staff for assistance. Please note: all wheel chair-bound visitors must be able to move on their own or must bring someone with them to assist.

Effective Monday, May 7, 2018 through Friday, May 11, 2018, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office McKinleyville Station will undergo construction to become more accessible to persons with disabilities. This facility is not currently in complete compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, also known as ADA. Humboldt County is committed to serving all residents regardless of ability. The county provides alternate service provisions at McKinleyville Sheriff Substation located at 1608 Pickett Rd, McKinleyville for people with physical limitations. If you would like assistance to enter or use this facility or require alternative assistance during business hours, please make your request during the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, by contacting Legal Office Assistant Margaret Gundersen at 707-839-6600, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
