The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office continues to ask for the community’s help to locate at-risk missing person, Patricia Ribeiro. A Silver Alert has been activated through the State of California for Ribeiro. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
Today, Aug. 20, 2022, marked the second full day of search efforts. Ribeiro, age 71, was last seen Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at about 10:30 a.m. walking westbound along Highway 36 in the area of Upper Larabee Valley Road.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area at about 1:30 p.m. August 18 and conducted an initial search of the area with negative results. Deputies returned Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20, and conducted an extensive search utilizing ground crews, trained tracking dogs and aerial support. The following organizations have assisted with this search: Humboldt County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Posse and the California Highway Patrol. Ribeiro has not been located at this time.
Ribeiro is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a bright blue t-shirt and blue tennis shoes. Ribeiro suffers from medical conditions and may be disoriented.
