It is now easier than ever for the public to access real-time crime information from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office with the new HCSO Citizen RIMS portal.
“Citizen RIMS is an extension of our computer aided dispatch and records management system we launched earlier this year,” Sheriff William Honsal said. “This program allows the public to interact with the Sheriff’s Office in a way like never before, with real-time information at their fingertips.”
Members of the public can now access Citizen RIMS at: https://hcso.crimegraphics.com/2013/default.aspx.
With Citizen RIMS’ incident mapping feature, the public can see incidents that have occurred within the last 24 hours or more throughout the county. Citizen RIMS also enables a new level of community interaction, allowing the public to help law enforcement efforts by providing a list of reported missing persons and stolen vehicles to look for, as well as providing a security camera registration tool to aid in criminal investigations. Citizen RIMS also allows the public to see the Sheriff’s Office’s latest arrests, booking photos and calls for service.
“We are proud to offer this new level of transparency to the public as we continue our commitment to create safer, more informed communities,” Sheriff Honsal said. “We welcome you to interact with us via the Citizen RIMS portal.”
