On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at approximately 4:39 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two people in a vehicle stuck in the snow on Fish Lake Rd, Willow Creek. The deputy met with the reporting party, stating he began walking to town yesterday to seek assistance. The other two people stayed in the vehicle to stay warm. While driving to the location of the vehicle, the deputy came across a male and a female sitting on the roadside. The deputy identified the subjects who confirmed they were stranded in the vehicle overnight and they had begun walking to town that day. The two appeared healthy and dry, and declined medical attention. The deputy gave them a ride into Hoopa to arrange for further assistance.
