Sheriff Mike Downey is pleased to announce the swearing in ceremony for two new Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff’s. The two new deputies are Tis-Mil Matilton from Hoopa, and Maxwell Soeth from Eureka. Both new employees have previous law enforcement experience.
These two Deputies are the direct results of Measure Z funding to increase the staffing levels for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. With the swearing in of these two new deputies, there are a total of five new Deputy Sheriff’s in the Field Training Program. Once these five Deputy Sheriff’s complete their training program they will be added to patrol staffing levels.
We are looking for motivated, hardworking men and women who have integrity, good communication skills, and physical ability to become one of Humboldt County’s finest.
