Sheriff Mike Downey is pleased to announce the swearing in ceremony of two new Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff’s. The two new deputies are Chanler Bronson from Eureka and Miranda Mayfield, also from Eureka. Both new employees are graduates of the College of the Redwoods Police Academy.
These two Deputies are the direct results of Measure Z funding to increase the staffing levels for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. With the swearing in of these two new deputies, there are a total of eight new Deputy Sheriff’s in the Field Training Program. Once these eight Deputy Sheriff’s complete their training program they will be added to patrol staffing levels.
