On August 14th and August 15th, 2017, The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), assisted by Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (C.A.M.P.), conducted a two-day operation in the areas of the Lacks Creek Drainage near the Hoopa Tribal Reservation and Red Cap Creek Drainage near Orleans to investigate possible trespass marijuana cultivation operations.
During these investigations, personnel located multiple suspected trespass marijuana grows on private timber land and areas of the Six Rivers National Forest. Campsites were discovered at each location indicating that the marijuana operations were being occupied. Over 8,000 marijuana plants were located and eradicated. No suspects were located.
These investigations are ongoing.
