On
Tuesday March 7, 2017 at about 8:15pm the Humboldt County Sheriff’s
Communications Center received a 911 call from a male subject, age 36. The male
caller stated himself and two females ages 39 and 34, were traveling in their
vehicle in the Waterman Ridge area, Willow Creek and became stuck in the snow.
Humboldt
County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was able to determine a GPS
location of the subjects with the assistance of the male subject’s cell phone
provider. Deputies attempted to respond to the GPS location but were unable to
access the road due to multiple downed trees. With the assistance of Caltrans,
the trees were cleared from the roadway. Deputies once again attempted to
continue towards the GPS location but were unable due to snow levels and the
road being impassable.
With
the assistance from Humboldt County Special Services and Trinity County
Sheriff’s Office personnel the three subjects were located in good condition
and transported to the Eureka area by Deputies.
