On Thursday, November 10, 2016 at about 3:00 a.m. Humboldt County Deputy Sheriffs responded to the Moonstone Beach parking area for a possible sighting of wanted person Ry Taylor Landen (age 25) with a red, white and blue motorcycle. Landen is wanted by the Sheriff’s Office for a vehicle burglary in Trinidad.
Deputies located Landen in a green Ford Expedition along with the motorcycle. Landen initially refused to comply with deputies’ demands to surrender. Landen was eventually taken into custody without incident. During a search of Landen incident to arrest deputies found him to be in possession of a loaded firearm, burglary tools, and narcotics.
Landen was arrested on his arrest warrants and additional charges of carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, possession of burglary tools, violation of probation, resisting arrest and possession of a narcotic controlled substance. Landen was taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on the above listed charges. He is ineligible for bail.

On August 17, 2016 a Humboldt County Deputy Sheriff patrolling the area of Trinidad was approached by two victims wanting to report a vehicle burglary. The male victim told the deputy his vehicle had been broken into while they were hiking near the Trinidad Frontage Road. The female victim’s wallet including various credit cards and driver’s license were stolen from the vehicle.
Later that day, the deputy received an email from the female victim stating her credit card had been used at several stores in McKinleyville and Trinidad. The deputy contacted the stores and obtained stills from their video surveillance. The identity of the suspect is unknown at this time.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect in this case. This man is believed to be involved in the vehicle burglary and fraudulent use of credit cards in the Trinidad and McKinleyville areas.
