Recently, the Yurok Tribe Head Start Program in Eureka had to cancel their field trip to a local pumpkin patch due to the recent storms. A local feed store and the Sheriffs Work Alternative Program coordinator heard of this and decided to make an indoor pumpkin patch for the kids. The feed store donated bales of hay and SWAP donated over 40 pumpkins for the kids. The kids had a great time!
Sheriff Downey would like to thank those that participated in making this happen. And a special thanks goes to Correctional Deputy Chelsey Camilli for the great idea of planting pumpkin seeds this year!
