Related Departments

Multiple departments are involved in the property tax process.  Listed below are short descriptions of each department's role related to property taxes, along with a link to their main page for more information.

Assessor - determines a property's taxable value

Auditor-Controller - computes the amount owed

Treasurer-Tax Collector - sends property tax bills and collects the amount due

Clerk-Recorder - records/files various authorized documents and maps
