Treasurer - Tax Collector

DUE TO COVID-19, THE TREASURER - TAX COLLECTOR’S OFFICE IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Yes, property taxes are still due as stated on your bills, but if you cannot pay timely because of COVID-19 economic fallout there will be instructions on this website after April 10th for applying for a penalty waiver.

Your personal and family financial needs come first but your property taxes will continue to be owed until paid.

Please read the letter from CSAC and CACTTC about penalties.https://www.counties.org/press-release/joint-csac-cacttc-statement-covid-19-and-april-10-property-tax-deadline

The primary purpose of the Treasurer - Tax Collector is to collect, manage, invest and redistribute county revenue.  To this end, we are responsible for mailing property tax bills and collecting the amount due that is computed by the Auditor-Controller, based on the taxable value of the property determined by the Assessor.  We provide banking and investment services to all County departments as well as Humboldt County’s community college, schools and special districts.
