Auditor-Controller

The Office of the Auditor-Controller is a central service department providing the accounting and financial support to the operations of the County departments, special districts, and other partnering agencies.

 

During this shelter-in-place order, the following modified services will be provided to support ongoing operations countywide:

 

  • Issuing payroll (direct deposit & paper checks)
  • Processing Accounts Payable

As we work to increase efficiency by equipping more staff to work remotely, we intend to increase our modified services to include:

 

  • Processing General Accounting requests
  • Processing Budget requests

Responsibilities


  • Accounts for property tax monies
  • Apportions and distributes to the various entities the property tax monies collected by the Tax Collector
  • Audits and issues payroll checks
  • Audits and processes claims for payment
  • Computes rates for school bonds
  • Computes the amount of taxes due
  • Issues receipts for all monies received by the county
  • Prepares financial reports
  • Records the financial transactions of the county and other related agencies
  • Serves as chief accounting officer in the county
