If you are developing your skills as an artist or if you just love to make art, consider taking part in the Humboldt County Public Library’s third annual Tiny Art Show.
The library’s Tiny Art Show is open to artists of all ages and talents. The program is free and all interested community members are invited to participate.
How to Participate
Visit any Humboldt County Library branch or the Humboldt County Bookmobile to pick up a free tiny art kit, while supplies last. In the kit will be a small canvas that participants can use to create their work of art. Participants can use any art medium they prefer to decorate the tiny canvas. Groups or classes may also request a group art kit for groups of 10 or more individuals who wish to participate together. Kits are available now, and they go quickly, so be sure to stop by your local library to pick one if you are interested in participating.
Use your own materials to decorate the tiny canvas or join one of the Wednesday night tiny art workshops during the month of August at the Eureka Main Library, located at 1313 Third St. in Eureka. At these workshops, Tiny Art Show participants will have the opportunity to get creative to their heart's content with art supplies provided by the library. Workshops will take place on:
- Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room
- Wednesday, Aug. 14 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room
- Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Young Adult Area
- Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Young Adult Area
Completed artworks must be turned in by Saturday, Aug. 31 to your local library to be showcased in the library’s Tiny Art Show for the month of September. For more information, please visit your local library, the Bookmobile or call 707-269-1915.
