Three Easy Ways to Return Your Vote-by-Mail Ballot

The Humboldt County Office of Elections reminds voters that returning your vote-by-mail ballot is simple, secure and convenient. Every active registered voter will receive a ballot in the mail, and you have three easy options to return it:

Ballot Return Options

  • By Mail – Simply drop your completed ballot in any U.S. Postal Service mailbox. Postage is pre-paid, so no stamp is needed!
  • Ballot Drop Box – Place your ballot in any official ballot drop box located throughout Humboldt County.
  • Vote Center – Drop off your ballot or vote in person at any Vote Center.

Important Dates

Vote-by-mail ballots will begin mailing on May 4, 2026.

Voters can return their ballots as soon as they receive them.

Drop boxes and select vote centers will be available starting May 4 for your convenience.
