A total of 4,323 Humboldt County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 after an additional 38 cases were recorded since the most recent report on Friday.

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available at mass-vaccination clinics organized by Humboldt County Public Health as well as at local pharmacies. Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines are authorized for people 18 years and up. Residents age 12 and older can receive the Pfizer vaccine only, and a parent or guardian must provide consent for minor children to be vaccinated in person at the clinic site.

See the schedule of upcoming vaccination clinics below, and sign up in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov.

  • Wednesday, June 2 - 2 to 6 p.m.
College of the Redwoods (7351 Tompkins Hill Road, Eureka)
    Pfizer/Johnson & Johnson
  • Saturday, June 5 - 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Eureka High School (1915 J St., Eureka)
    Pfizer/Johnson & Johnson
  • Wednesday, June 9 - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mattole Grange (36512 Mattole Road, Petrolia)
    Johnson & Johnson

Many local pharmacies are also offering COVID-19 vaccines. Most allow walk-ins, but calling ahead to confirm is encouraged. Go to vaccines.gov to check availability at participating pharmacies.

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released updated COVID-19 vaccination data for all 58 counties, which shows 60.4% of Humboldt County’s residents age 12 and older have received at least one dose of vaccine, meaning they have some protection from the virus. See data for nearby counties below.

  • Mendocino – 63%
  • Del Norte – 41.9%
  • Trinity – 39.9%
  • Shasta – 44.3%.

CDPH also announced today that Humboldt County will remain in the “Orange” or Moderate tier under the state’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy,” with an adjusted case rate of 7.9 per 100,000 county residents and a positivity rate of 5.6%. Though the county’s metrics meet the threshold for reassignment to the “Red” tier, CDPH is also factoring hospitalizations into its reassignments, and the county’s hospital capacity is not at risk at this time.
