Thirteen new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Humboldt County today, and one case originally reported in November was determined to be a false positive and has been removed from the county’s count. A total of 3,915 county residents have tested positive for the virus.
Humboldt County has requested 6,610 doses of COVID-19 vaccine — 3,510 Pfizer, 2,000 Moderna and 1,100 Johnson & Johnson — from the state for next week. The state continues to transition its vaccination allocation and delivery process to third party administrator Blue Shield, which has indicated that counties may not receive all requested doses.
Public Health is holding second-dose mass vaccination clinics today through Sunday as thousands of county residents are due to complete their two-dose series. Those in need of a first- or second-dose of vaccine who aren’t already scheduled for an appointment can sign up through a local pharmacy. Go to vaccines.gov to view availability at all participating local pharmacies.
