Humboldt County Public Works and The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services have issued the following press release for shuttle services and bypass road information for the residents of Panther Gap.
The Humboldt County Department of Public Works and The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services is setting up a shuttle service to escort the residents of Panther Gap Road Community
around the slip-out on Panther Gap Road at PM 0.50.
Northern Shuttle Location: 0.75 miles west of the intersection of Panther Gap Road at the “green gate” off of Mattole Road.
Southern Shuttle Location: At the “Y” intersection on Panther Gap Road at PM 1.0 location will be signed.
Communication: A radio network is being setup at both shuttle locations to communicate with the shuttle operator. Instructions will be posted at the radio sites.
Hours of Operation: 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. 7 days a week
Detour Route: A restricted detour is being established. The conditions of use will include the following restrictions:
• All wheel drive vehicles only
• Dry weather only (the shuttle shall not be restricted to dry weather)
• Gross Vehicular Weight not to exceed 12,500 LBS.
