All Humboldt County Libraries are closed today the New Year Holiday.

"The Water Dancer" by Ta-Nehisi Coates is about a young, enslaved boy named Hiram who discovers a special power connected to water and memory. As he grows up, he learns the truth about his family and becomes involved in helping others escape slavery. The book explores themes of freedom, loss, and the importance of remembering the past.

Currently on display at the Hagopian Gallery, produced by Jack Nash and Joe Walund, featuring historic photos from the Humboldt County Historical Society as well as their personal collections. The theme this year is "Highlights of Humboldt - Revisited" and includes some favorites from the last 18 years of producing library displays.

Library Staff are providing study materials and will try their best to help answer any questions you may have. So, let's get together and study at Eureka's Teen Study Hall event. Provided materials are pens, paper, whiteboards, markers, and more.

Movie showings every 3rd Wednesdays of the month, 5 p.m. at the Eureka Library. Selected movies are typically rated R, so this event will work best for adults and/or teens accompanied by adults.

Use the library's Lego collection to build on an idea and get creative problem-solving skills while having fun. Lego creations will be put on display for everyone to enjoy until the next meeting. The club is set up for kids 6 to 12 years old. Please leave your own Lego bricks at home unless you want to donate them as outlined below.
