Designed for little ones 0-18 months with their caregiver, Baby Read & Grow involves books, songs, play, and exploration. Develop your child's love for books and start early literacy practices to unlock a lifetime of reading and learning.

Celebrate early literacy at Eureka Library's weekly preschool story time. We’ll talk, sing, read, write, and play together in the children’s room. This program is just right for children 2 to 6 years old with their caregivers, but other family members are welcome to join in the fun!

The book follows real people and events as things fall apart. It is gripping, clear, and full of true history.

Now that the spring holidays are over, it’s a good time to think about stocking up on reading for the coming months. Join us for the Friends of the Redwood Libraries Spring Book Sale!

Use the library's Lego collection to build on an idea and get creative problem-solving skills while having fun. Lego creations will be put on display for everyone to enjoy until the next meeting. The club is set up for kids ages 6-12. Please leave your own Lego bricks at home unless you want to donate them as outlined below.

Movie showings every 3rd Wednesdays of the month, 5 p.m. at the Eureka Library. Selected movies are typically rated R, so this event will work best for adults and/or teens accompanied by adults.

Are you interested in home gardening? Join the UC Master Gardener Program Humboldt & Del Norte Counties for a monthly speaker series at the Eureka Library. Every third Saturday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m. they will introduce a new topic for community members to learn about.

Celebrate early literacy at Eureka Library's monthly Family Story time. A time to sing, read, and play together in the children’s room. This program is just right for children 3 to 8 years old with their loved ones.

Join us to Learn, Build, and Play the game of Dungeons & Dragons. Learn the rules, Build your characters, and Play a single session adventure. This is a Teen Only (ages 11 to 19 years old) event for players of all levels. If you're not here to learn, then stay and meet others who want to meet and play with you. Library staff has basic materials for all, but more advanced players can bring their own materials, as well.

Join us at the Eureka Library for an evening of poetry by local Poet, Margot Genger. Along with some new poems, Margot will be reading from her recently published, Baobab Tree: Collected Poems from 1970 to 2024. Margot Genger grew up in Humboldt County where she continues to explore, write, and appreciate the hidden gems of beauty in her hometown.

Bring your gently or never used craft supplies and take home something new to you at the Eureka Library Craft Swap! All items must be clean and in good condition. We are looking for usable items, do not bring broken, dirty, or moldy items. Please be mindful of other attendees and take only what you will use; This is a community exchange—let's make sure everyone finds a treasure!

Join us in the Children’s Room to celebrate "National Day of Puppetry" with a fun, interactive Puppet show and Workshop from Sean Powers!
