[ARCHIVED] Property Tax Bills 2016

Property taxes are due now! Why not take a moment today and send in your tax payment to avoid being late? Don’t forget!

The first installment of Humboldt County Property Taxes must be paid by Thursday,
December 10, 2015 in order to be timely. Late property tax payments will result in a 10% penalty. If mailing, make sure your payment is postmarked by December 10th or else you will be penalized.

We urge anyone having questions regarding payment to first look at your tax bill, front and back, or check out the website http://humboldtgov.org/tax as almost all answers can be found in one of these two places. If you don’t find your answer then call us, or the Assessor, or the Auditor (depending on your question) at 707-441-3020.

Online payments can be made at the website http://humboldtgov.org/tax or at the Tax Collector’s office where we also accept debit card, credit card, and e-check payments. This added convenience does involve processing by private companies so there is a service fee charged by these outside contractors (not by Humboldt County). You may also make debit and credit card payments over the phone by calling (877) 486-7163….and yes, the same service fees apply.

There are also secure tax payment boxes just inside the Courthouse (before the security check-points) at both the 4th and 5th Street entrances. Keep in mind that the Courthouse closes at 5:00.

The Tax Collector's Office will be very busy through December 10th. So if you wish to pay in person you will not only need to go through Courthouse security screening but may also have to wait in line once you get to the Tax Collector’s office. Mailing your payment early will be less of a hassle.
