The Humboldt County Transition Age Youth Collaboration (HCTAYC) and Youth Advocacy Board (YAB) are hosting visioning and collaboration events Dec. 2 and 3, at the TAY Center, located at 433 M St. in Eureka. The events aim to bring youth, young adults, community collaborators and services providers together to share feedback and ideas for the future of HCTAYC and YAB.

The Dec. 2, event takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. and is specifically for young people ages 16 to 26. Community partners and collaborators are invited to the Dec. 3 event from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

HCTAYC is a youth advocacy and leadership development organization dedicated to empowering young people with lived experience to transform the foster care, juvenile justice, mental health and homelessness services systems.

The event provides HCTAYC, community members and service providers an opportunity to brainstorm ideas and guidance on policy work, advocacy opportunities and to strengthen partnership.

HCTAYC Youth Organizer Rosemary Shultz says, “This event is to reach as many transition-age youth as possible to share, envision and create action items to benefit youth health and wellbeing in our community and help shape HCTAYC’s programming.” 

Young people who participate Dec. 2 will receive a gift card and a chance to win raffle prizes. Food will be provided. Community members and collaborators will be provided light refreshments and a chance to win raffle prizes at the Dec. 3 event.
