Last Thursday, the Humboldt County Fire Safe Council (HCFSC) celebrated 20 years since it was established by the Board of Supervisors in 2002. Members met in-person at the Eureka Woman's Club after two years of remote meetings. The HCFSC looks forward to more in-person meetings in May and November of 2023—see the meeting schedule for details.
During the meeting, members of the Southern Humboldt Forest Health Collaborative shared their experience working collaboratively to secure $5 Million in grant funds for the Mattole and Salmon Creek Forest Health and Wildfire Resilience Project. They were joined by several other presenters working with local groups in Southern Humboldt. View the presentation slides to learn more.
And finally, meeting participants were previewed on a special video compiled to commemorate the HCFSC's 20 years. We are excited to share it with you and look forward to the next 20 years! View the video in the Civic Media Center.
