Community residents are invited to review and comment on the Humboldt County Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Annual Update 2022-2023.
The comment period runs from May 25 through June 23. A public hearing is scheduled for June 23, from 12:15-1 p.m. and will be facilitated by the Humboldt County Behavioral Health Board via Zoom. Additional information on the public hearing will be available on the Behavioral Health Board's June agenda at https://humboldtgov.org/426/Behavioral-Health-Board.
In 2004, California voters approved Proposition 63, or MHSA, which placed a 1 percent tax on personal incomes in excess of $1 million. This revenue is used to develop and support local mental health programs for children, youth, adults and older adults.
The MHSA Annual Update is available for review here.
Feedback can be provided by emailing mhsacomments@co.humboldt.ca.us or by mailing comments to DHHS Behavioral Health, Attn: MHSA Comments, 720 Wood St., Eureka, CA 95501. To request a printed copy of the plan, call 707-441-3770 or toll-free 866-320-8911.
