On Friday, you’re invited to a meeting about the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). A public hearing on the MHSA will take place the following Thursday, May 27.
Friday’s virtual meeting will focus on the legal and regulatory requirements of community program planning processes and is scheduled to run from noon to 1 p.m. Those interested in attending should send an email to mhsacomments@co.humboldt.ca.us to request a link to the Zoom meeting.
On May 27, the Humboldt County Behavioral Health Board will facilitate a public hearing as part of its regular meeting. The Board meeting begins at 12:15 p.m. The agenda and a link to the Board's Zoom meeting can be found here: https://humboldtgov.org/behavioralhealthboard.
In 2004, California voters approved Proposition 63, or MHSA, which placed a 1 percent tax on personal incomes in excess of $1 million. This revenue is used to develop and support local mental health programs for children, youth, adults and older adults.
