Today is Dr. Teresa Frankovich’s last day serving as County Health Officer. She will continue to support Public Health’s COVID-19 pandemic response in a part-time role going forward. Deputy Health Officer Dr. Josh Ennis will fill the position until a replacement is named.
Dr. Frankovich expressed gratitude to colleagues and the entire community for their tireless efforts in navigating this pandemic. “I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to serve this community in this incredibly challenging time,” she said. “At this point, we have the knowledge and tools to help us navigate forward. It will take the effort of each and every one of us to do so. I am happy to continue serving in a new, supporting role.”
The California Department of Public Health today updated county tier assignments under the state’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy.” Humboldt County remains in the “Purple” or widespread tier with an adjusted case rate of 8.9 and positivity rate of 3.2%.
