Community residents are invited to review and comment on Humboldt County’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) three-year plan.
The plan lays out MHSA-funded programs and expenditures through the 2019/20 fiscal year.
In 2004, California voters approved Proposition 63, known as the MHSA, which placed a 1 percent tax on personal incomes in excess of $1 million. That funding is used to develop and support local mental health programs for children, youth, adults and older adults.
Following the comment period, residents will have the chance to weigh in at a public hearing before the plan is adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
The plan is available for review here: https://humboldtgov.org/451/Documents-Open-for-Public-Comment.
There are a number of ways to share feedback. Email comments to mhsacomments@co.humboldt.ca.us, call 707-441-3770 or use the toll-free number at 866-320-8911. Comments can also be mailed to DHHS Mental Health, attn: Cathy Rigby, 720 Wood St., Eureka, CA 95501.
A printed copy of the plan is available upon request.
