Headwaters Grant Fund accepting applications for 2017

Headwaters web pageThe Headwaters Grant Fund is now accepting applications for economic development projects. The total award available through this funding cycle is $75,000 which will be divided among selected project proposals.  The deadline to apply is November 1, 2017. The mission of the Headwaters Fund is to improve the local economy by funding project proposals that support economic development.

The Headwaters Fund supports projects that specifically benefit base industry clusters or contribute to the region’s competitive advantage. Preference is given to projects that maintain and increase the numbers of sustainable jobs paying near or above the median income, enhance quality of life, and promote healthy communities while protecting the natural environment.

The amount available for this grant round is based on interest earnings from the Headwaters Fund principal account. Local nonprofits and government entities are encouraged to apply. Private businesses with a project idea may partner with a nonprofit or governmental agency.  Applicants are encouraged to submit a letter of interest no later than September 22, 2017 to determine if a project is a good fit for this grant program.
