Today, the Honorable Judge Christopher Wilson sentenced Allen Keith Perkins, age 54, to serve 25 years to life in prison for criminal threats, as well as a concurrent 6-year prison sentence for vandalism.  Perkins was convicted by a Humboldt County jury on July 24, 2025, following a multiple week jury trial presided over by Judge Wilson.   

Perkins, who has an extensive criminal history, including convictions for felony domestic violence, narcotics offenses, DUI, theft, felony evading, burglary, firearm & other weapon violations, was sentenced under California’s Three Strikes Law as he suffered two prior strike convictions for criminal threats. The crimes for which Perkins was sentenced this morning, stemmed from events that occurred on December 6, 2023, when Perkins attempted to run a 59-year-old woman off the roadway in Old Town, Eureka. At one point, while the woman was stopped in her vehicle, Perkins exited his vehicle, armed himself with a weapon and approached the woman.  He then made threats to physically harm her.  She fled to a nearby safe location, just before Perkins smashed her car window and took items from inside her car. Mr. Perkins was located a short distance away by Eureka Police Officers and taken to jail.  There was no pre-existing relationship between Perkins and his victim. 

The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees, with assistance from District Attorney Investigator Martin Morris, and District Attorney Victim Witness Advocate Michala Pelren. Local defense attorney Zachary Curtis represented Mr. Perkins.

In response to Judge Wilson’s sentencing decision, District Attorney Stacey Eads said, “With the hard work and dedication of many, including members of the jury and local law enforcement, Mr. Perkins has now been held accountable for his crimes and our community is a safer place.”
