Ash Davidson's novel, Damnation Spring, is set in a Northern California lumber town in the 1970's. Redwood lumber is an increasingly vanishing market, and old growth stands are already rare. One such stand, and one family, are at the heart of this novel of how people come to terms with one another and their environment, what changes and what stays the same.
