The Humboldt County Planning & Building Department reminds the community that beginning Wednesday, Jan. 10, all permit applications, including building permits, planning permits, and permit application fees and deposits, will be accepted digitally via the county’s online permit processing system, known as the Accela Citizen Access Customer Portal. Additionally, contractors will be able to obtain instant building permits online for all “over the counter” permits without having to visit the department in person.
County staff will continue to be available at the department’s front counter to help community members in need of assistance or who are unable to submit their applications online. Additionally, there will be publicly accessible computer terminals in the lobby for customers to submit their permit applications.
