Cancer, of all types, has affected the lives of our employees and community in one way or another. According to the National Cancer Institute, breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the United States, impacting both women and men.
This year the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special, limited edition 2023 Pink Patch shirt that honors those who have battled every type of cancer. The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Custom Ink to sell these t-shirts and raise funds for the Humboldt County Breast and GYN Health Project, HCBGHP. The cost of the shirt is $35, which includes materials, printing and a donation to HCBGHP. Shirts may be purchased at: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/hcso-pink-patch-project
The Pink Patch Project is an innovative public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and to support breast cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease. Each year the Sheriff's Office participates in the Pink Patch project to support HCBGHP, our local Breast and GYN cancer support center. In years past we have sold stickers and hats to our community, pins and patches to our employees.
This fundraiser is open to our entire community, with delivery anticipated in early-to-mid November. Thank you for helping us support those fighting cancer in our community!
