The County of Humboldt’s Department of Agriculture, in partnership with the California Department of Food and Agriculture's (CDFA) Egg Safety and Quality Management Program (ESQM), will host a free Small Flock Egg Producers Workshop this month.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Humboldt County Agricultural Center located at 5630 South Broadway in Eureka.
This all ages workshop is meant for anyone interested in learning about poultry. The day will be filled with hands on activities and informative presentations about chickens and other egg laying fowl. Participants will learn everything from raising a happy, healthy flock to egg monitoring best practices such as candling eggs, and all about the necessary requirements to sell eggs in California.
