The County of Humboldt has issued three Requests for Proposals (RFP) for Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded economic development programs, including the Youth Program, Layoff Aversion and Rapid Response Programs, and the Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs/American Job Centers of California (AJCC) Job Market Operator.
WIOA is federal legislation created to strengthen and improve the public workforce system and help Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and, also, help employers hire and retain skilled workers.
With oversight from the Humboldt County Workforce Development Board (HCWDB), acting as advisory to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors, the RFPs seek to establish operators to deliver workforce programming. Services include, but are not limited to, career exploration and guidance, continued support for educational attainment, opportunities for skills training, and job placement along a career pathway.
All proposers will be held to the technical, service and capability requirements outlined in each RFP. For detailed information on RFP eligibility and requirements, please visit the Humboldt County Bid Opportunities web page.
How to apply:
Please refer to each RFP for full application instructions. Electronic submissions must be sent to workforce@co.humboldt.ca.us and received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26.
Proposals may be subject to public disclosure pursuant to the California Public Records Act.
