County residents looking to have input into the Humboldt County Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Program are invited to attend a meeting in Scotia on the evening of April 1.
The Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services, Environmental Health Division is initiating revisions to the county’s Sewage Disposal Ordinance and Regulations. This work is being undertaken to:
• Modernize and organize regulating documents
• Reflect advances in small-scale wastewater treatment
• Comply with requirements of the state policy: Water Quality Control Policy on the Siting, Design, Operation and Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS Policy).
The meeting, which is the second of two held in the county, will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Winema Theater located on 113 Main St. in Scotia.
For more information about the project and to receive updates and meeting minutes about this and subsequent meetings, contact Debbie Miller at 268-2231 or Dmiller@co.humboldt.ca.us.
