County residents looking to have input into the Humboldt County Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Program are invited to attend a meeting in Arcata on the evening of March 23.
The Humboldt County Department of Health & Human Services, Environmental Health Division is initiating revisions to the county’s Sewage Disposal Ordinance and Regulations. This work is being undertaken to:
• Modernize and organize regulating documents
• Reflect advances in small-scale wastewater treatment
• Comply with requirements of the state policy: Water Quality Control Policy on the Siting, Design, Operation and Maintenance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS Policy).
The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the D Street Neighborhood Center located at 1301 D St., Arcata.
