Local businesses can now begin submitting their applications to receive a share of $3.2 million the County of Humboldt made available through its Small Business Restart & Recovery Grant Program. The program, funded by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, will provide direct aid in the form of micro grants to small and locally owned and operated businesses that have experienced a financial hardship as a result of COVID-19.
Businesses that meet the eligibility criteria may apply for reimbursement not to exceed $500 for expenses incurred in relation to drafting/submitting their business reopening plan(s) and may also apply for up to $12,000 (cap per entity) to assist with COVID-19 related expenses.
Grant recipients must meet the following guidelines:
Be a for-profit business whose business was or has closed, or who incurred necessary expenditures as a result of COVID-19
Be in compliance with state and local Public Health orders
