COVID-19 testing is expanding to eastern Humboldt, and county residents can now register for a test in Willow Creek in addition to Eureka.

The Humboldt County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is partnering with Trinity County Health and Human Services and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to offer testing for COVID-19 infection in Willow Creek from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the next three Thursdays in June. Insurance will be billed for those with health care coverage, but there is no cost to the person being tested whether or not they have insurance.

“We are thrilled to offer testing to residents of Eastern Humboldt who can’t easily travel to Eureka to get a test,” Humboldt County Health Officer Dr. Teresa Frankovich said. “We want to make sure this resource is available to as many people in our county as possible. I encourage everyone to get tested. It is an important part of monitoring for COVID-19 in our community.”

The testing site will be located at the Big Rock Day Use Area, 2383-2405 Trinity River Highway in Willow Creek. There are two simple ways to register:

This site is made possible by CDPH and Verily Life Sciences as part of a statewide effort to increase testing access in rural and underserved areas.
