Local housing efforts could see a boost in funding after the upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting in which bids will be opened for the sale of a 6.74-acre county property in Myrtletown. The Board has already designated that proceeds from the sale of this property, located at 2769 Lucas Street, will be deposited in a trust fund reserved for affordable housing projects.
On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the Board will receive bids for the Lucas Street property. Recently appraised at $375,000, the property is zoned Apartment Professional with a Greenway and Open Space Combining Zone (R-4*/GO) and includes a Residential Medium Density General Plan designation (RM). The site includes sections that are above and below street grade with mixed topography; the portion of the property that would stand the best chance at being developed is slightly above street grade and extends north from Lucas Street along the west half of the site.
The property is served by PG&E for electricity and natural gas, and Humboldt Community Services District for sewer and water. It is not located in a flood zone. The entire appraisal with property description is available on the county’s website.
Those who are interested in bidding on the property may contact Tom deAge, Humboldt County Senior Real Property Agent at tdeage@co.humboldt.ca.us or 707-268-2667.
