The Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) announced today that rural community and business leaders from across the state raised $56,590 for seven Humboldt County Charities at RCRC’s 2018 Annual Meeting. Raised during the RCRC Basket Raffle Dinner in Napa County earlier this fall, the funds will assist a multitude of countywide resource providers in their efforts to serve the residents of Humboldt County.
“I am overwhelmed by the generosity of this gift,” said RCRC Chair and Humboldt County Supervisor Rex Bohn. “This substantial donation will benefit the residents of Humboldt County whom need it most, and I am thankful for the opportunity to lead an organization dedicated to serving our rural communities.”
RCRC’s Annual Meeting concludes with a Basket Raffle Dinner in which a county-themed basket is raffled off from each of RCRC’s 36 member counties. The proceeds from the Basket Raffle Dinner are donated to select charities in the county of the RCRC Chair. This year’s selected charities include Special Olympics Northern California, Ferndale Senior Resource Agency – Ferndale Community Center, Ferndale Museum, Cancer Crushers, Mattole Valley Family Resource Center, Families Advocating Autism Now (FAAN), and Redcrest Volunteer Fire.
