These popular Humboldt County Historical Society Lectures happen monthly, now on the first Saturday of most months. They are sometimes live online and sometimes hybrid events. This one is hybrid, which means you can attend in person or online via the link on this page. The Clarke Museum has wheelchair access from the west side of the building. The buzzer there is not working at present but you can knock or call 707-443-1947 to be let in. Restrooms are also accessible.

2:30 PM, Clarke Museum, Schoolhouse Odyssey, with Diana Schoenfeld, a Local History Lecture (Zoom)
Saturday, May 6, 2023
Embark on a Schoolhouse Odyssey with Photographer Diana Schoenfeld, as she shares her decades of photographing America’s often forgotten one-room schoolhouses. Begun in 1995 in Humboldt County, continuing across the United States, from Vermont to California, from the Deep South to the Pacific Northwest, Schoenfeld has also gathered memories from former teachers and students as long ago as 1916.

Melancholy Voices of the Past
