2:30 PM, Clarke Museum, Schoolhouse Odyssey, with Diana Schoenfeld, a Local History Lecture (Zoom)

Saturday, May 6, 2023

Embark on a Schoolhouse Odyssey with Photographer Diana Schoenfeld, as she shares her decades of photographing America’s often forgotten one-room schoolhouses. Begun in 1995 in Humboldt County, continuing across the United States, from Vermont to California, from the Deep South to the Pacific Northwest, Schoenfeld has also gathered memories from former teachers and students as long ago as 1916.

Schoolhouse Odyssey

Melancholy Voices of the Past

An abandoned school house, overgrown with weeds and brush. The old schoolhouses may be melancholy now, but many memories were made there!
