Earned Income Tax Credit - For individuals and families who worked and earned income under a certain amount, this is a great way of keeping more of the money you earned instead of sending it to Washington.  Or to Sacramento, because California also has an EITC. You may be able to get these credits even if you didn't make enough money to pay taxes.

Do’s and Don’ts for Getting Cash in a Pinch - from the American Institute of CPAs.

Need Internet but Can't Afford It? You might qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program. This is a Federal Communications Commission program to help low-income households pay for internet. Get Help with Your Medical Budget - Covered California has special enrollment during the pandemic. Anyone can sign up and get a decent medical insurance plan for a more affordable price, but for those who have suffered job loss and been on unemployment, your cost can be as low as ONE DOLLAR per month, thanks to pandemic subsidies in the American Rescue Plan. Some people who earned too much to get financial help in the past are now eligible, also. This special funding lasts until Dec. 31, 2022.

In Eureka, Get Help with Your Utilities Budget. Low income Eureka residents may be eligible for help paying for water or electricity bills.
