Learn about baseball teams and local leagues in the early days of ballplaying in Humboldt County. Local historian Jack Nash will give history, details and anecdotes about the game as played in the years 1874 to 1944.

Jack Nash 

is a 5th generation Humboldt County native, and a past president of the Humboldt County Historical Society. Nash attended Marshall and Eureka Junior High, graduating from Eureka High School in 1962.  Nash saw service in the US military from 1967-1970 and later became a partner in the family clothing business, Arthur Johnson's, from 1970 to 1995. You'll find articles by Mr. Nash in the Humboldt Historian if you enjoy the lecture and want to know more.
