This month's story follows one Korean family from the early 1900s with Sunja, the prized daughter of a poor family, whose unplanned pregnancy threatens their reputation. Sunja is abandoned by her lover but rescued by a young minister who offers to marry and take her to Japan. This epic explores age-old questions of faith, family, and what it means to be exiled from one's homeland, trapped in the indifferent arc of history.
